Excel-Tools

Statistics Excel tools for download

In the course of the previous consultancy work, a whole series of statistical tools in MS-Excel® for statistical tests and estimates as well as for determining the number of cases have emerged. They are provided free of charge here (Version: MS Excel XP, downward compatible with MS Excel 2000, upward compatible with Excel2003, Excel2007, Excel 2010, Excel 2013, Excel 2016, Excel 2019, Office 365). The files contain a short description and a preset example.

Please note: Of course, everything is done to ensure the correctness of the tools and the cleanliness of the files regarding computer viruses. However, ACOMED statistics cannot formally accept any liability in the event that incorrect results are obtained when the tools are used or the files are "infected" by computer viruses.

Excel-Tools for analysis of 2x2 contingency tables

Chi2-Test

Evaluation of a 2x2-contingency table (unpaired samples), including details of the relative proportions. Information on the validity of the procedure with small sample sizes, reporting of the results with and without continuity correction
Download Excel-Tool Chi2-Test

Reliability, kappa, McNemar test

Evaluation of a 2x2 contingency table for paired data. Presentation of the relative proportions. Specification of the measures of concordance when used for diagnostic accuracy with respect to the comparator method (corresponding to CLSI EP12). Calculation of kappa including confidence interval. McNemar test.
Download Excel Tool Reliability

Measures of the diagnostic accuracy including confidence intervals

New calculation of the Estimates for diagnostic accuracy sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV, DLR+, DLR- incl. confidence interval. For the predictive values (PPV, NPV) it is taken into account whether it is a case-control study or not.

Excel tools Equivalence tests (TOST)

TOST (1 group)

Two 1-sided t-test (equivalence test) for the mean value of a group. Additional indication of the confidence interval of the mean. Application z. B. for robustness experiments, method comparisons, etc., where paired data are considered: the pairwise differences are entered. Incl. tabulation of necessary sample sizes.
Excel Tool TOST (1 Group)

TOST (2 groups)

Two-sided t-test (equivalence test) for the comparison of two mean values (unpaired data). Additional indication of the confidence interval of the difference. Incl. tabulation of necessary sample sizes.

Confidence interval for a proportion

In the foreground is the calculation of the Wilson-Score confidence interval, as it is e.g. often used for sensitivity and specificity. Further confidence intervals are given (Perason-Clopper-CI, an alternative to the Wilson-Score-CI, furthermore the Agresti-Coull_CI , often used in the safety considerations).
Excel tool CI of a proportion

Passing-Bablok-Regression (20 Proben)

Trial version of the tool available in the web shop Passing Bablok regression for up to N = 20.

Odds ratio and probabilities

Excel-Tool OR vs. p

Confidence interval of a standard deviationr Titel

Calculations of factors depending on the sample size by which the standard deviation (or %CV) must be multiplied in order to obtain the limits of the confidence interval. In the context of precision studies (analytical performance), the one-sided upper confidence interval is of interest.

Excel-tool: CI of a SD (or %CV)

Factors for confidence, prediction and tolerance interval for a given standard deviation

Specification of the factor by which the standard deviation must be multiplied in order to indicate the corresponding interval, depending on the number of cases. Calculation according to USP <1210> (Statistical tools for procedure validation)
