ACOMED is managed by Dr. rer. nat. Thomas Keller (* 1961), biophysicist, residing in Leipzig. His experience in leading and conducting clinical studies and in statistical analyzes is now based on over 20 years of experience in this area, of which since 2003 as a freelancer as owner of ACOMED statistics. Since 2011, additional employees have been hired on a permanent basis: Stephan Weber (Dipl. Stat.), Caroline Elzner (Dipl.-Math., M.Sc. Medical Biometry/Biostatistics) and Patrick Kantelhardt (M.Sc. Statistics).

ACOMED statistics was founded in 2003. The name ACOMED means "Agency for Computer Applications in Medicine", this name was chosen in 2003 when it was not yet clear which services would be successful. But already after a short time, the business in the field of biostatistics is developing very well. After more than 20 years, ACOMED statistik can look back on a very successful, steady development. The concept pursued from the beginning to develop the subject areas "Analytical Performance / Method Validation IvD" and "Clinical Performance of IvD / Clinical Diagnostic Studies" has been implemented. Furthermore, the processing of clinical studies from the pharmaceutical industry and the medical device industry is an integral part of the services of ACOMED statistics.

ACOMED statistics counts well-known, globally operating companies as well as medium-sized companies and start-ups as well as renowned university research groups and public institutions and from Germany, Europe, the USA, India and New Zealand among its customers (cf. references).

It has been possible to combine research, services (study planning, study evaluations) and teaching (statistical training, teaching in doctoral seminars) under one roof.

Dr. Thomas Keller is a member of the GMDS (Society for Medical Documentation and Statistics), the International Society for Biometry (Section Germany) and the DGKL (German Association for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine). Within the DGKL he works as a co-opted member in the section "Decision Limits / Guide Values".

Dr. Keller was or is a member of two CLSI working groups that created new versions of the EP-09 (method comparison, bias) and EP-25 (stability) guidelines. Dr. also works Thomas Keller in the IFCC working group "Commutability in Metrological Traceability (WG-CMT)".
