ACOMED is managed by Dr. Thomas Keller (born 1961), a biophysicist based in Leipzig. His experience in leading and conducting clinical trials and in statistical analyses is based on over 20 years of work in this field, including since 2003 as the owner of ACOMED statistik, a freelance business. In addition to Dr. Keller, three permanent research associates work at ACOMED statistik: Stephan Weber (Dipl. Statistician), Caroline Elzner (Dipl.-Math./M.Sc. Medical Biometry/Biostatistics), and Patrick Kantelhardt (M.Sc. Statistics).

ACOMED statistik was founded in 2003. The name ACOMED stands for "Agency for Computer Applications in Medicine," a name chosen in 2003 when it was still unclear which services would be successful. However, the business in the field of biostatistics developed very well within a short time. After more than 20 years, ACOMED statistik can look back on a very successful and steady development. The concept pursued from the outset—to focus on the areas of "Analytical Performance/Method Validation of In-Visual Diagnostics" and "Clinical Performance of In-Visual Diagnostics/Clinical Diagnostic Studies"—has been implemented. Furthermore, the processing of clinical studies from the pharmaceutical and medical device industries remains an integral part of ACOMED statistik's services.

ACOMED statistik counts well-known, globally operating companies as well as medium-sized companies and start-ups, renowned university research groups and public institutions from Germany, Europe, the USA, India, New Zealand and South Africa among its clients (see [reference]). References).

It has been possible to unite research, services (study planning, study evaluations) and teaching (statistics training, teaching in doctoral seminars) under one roof.

Dr. Thomas Keller is a member of the GMDS (Society for Medical Documentation and Statistics), the International Society for Biometry (German Section), and the DGKL (German United Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine). Within the DGKL, he serves as a co-opted member in the "Decision Limits / Reference Values" section.

Dr. Keller was or is a member of three CLSI working groups that have developed or are developing new versions of guidelines EP-09 (Method Comparison, Bias), EP-25 (Stability), and EP-40 (Carry-Over). Furthermore, Dr. Thomas Keller is a member of the IFCC working group "Commutability in Metrological Traceability (WG-CMT)."
